I've been on a shopping trip like that, Aurora. What made that one worse was the woman had a habit of half-filling the shopping cart then reversing course and putting half of that back on the shelf, finally spending about $8.50 while stealing 15 brown paper bags to use for the garbage, then moving on to the next store... To be honest gae, I havent been in that place in years (actually only been once) and I dont think it'd be worth the trip for me. Not that they dont have everything, but I just don't have enough stuff to buy to justify the trip.
You could probably spend all day in that place and still not see everything.

My husband is the shopper in the family. He does almost all of the grocery shopping and he is a "bargain hunter" BIG TIME.
I find, in food items, most often the store brand is almost as good as the name brands. But in cleaning items some of the name brands are difinitely better than the store brands. I think because there are certain "standards" that must be met by all brands. I don't think those same standards are used in non-food items. [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]
Center of the store shit I don't care about, it's all crap anyway.
Very little brand loyalty here on cleaning or laundry products. I'll buy whatever is on sale.
Trav insists on certain other products -- shampoo, conditioner, etc.
We buy very few processed foods, but pasta and tomato products must be imported from Italy.

I try to buy American made. And it's getting more and more difficult to do. (from a supply perspective, not as a choice)

They went to one store that had broccoli at 10 cents a pound less than the other stores, got 3 pounds of broccoli, then drove 10 miles to another store that had bananas at 10 cents a pound less than other stores and got 5 pounds of bananas. And so on. We spent four hours grocery shopping, I think my mom saved 3 or 4 dollars, and they must have put a hundred miles on the car.Quote:
